New web site is online

Yesterday the new web site was published online. Developing it was a big task, but necessary looking forward. The old site was quite limited and do not allow us to publish new content, alter it or change the layout with the speed we need today.

The new site was built on strong foundations: Orchard a small, but powerful, CMS (content management system) which allows us to alter any aspect of the site and edit its contents in much less time than before. It also allow a much deeper customization than previous site.

Together with the front end you could see at www.revel-software.it, we take the opportunity to publish the web services needed by Breezer 2013. In Breezer 2012 the update, news and error reporting engine was in fact composed by three separated modules. Starting from Breezer 2013 we unified every service under one single web service. This will allow us to receive and send data without being blocked by a firewall or antivirus solutions.

We also added two new sections here, where you and other users of Breezer could share and comment their feedbacks (in one section) and in the other one the bugs that inevitably may are still present in our releases.

About Breezer 2013 beta

We're about (05 june to be precise) to send the first closed beta invites by email, to selected users that in the past had helped us a lot with Breezer 2012 beta with feedbacks, feature requests and more.

This short private beta period will help us to track down the biggest bugs, which usually prevents the program to run or even install.

Blog and Breezer 2012 updated

Few days ago we've updated the blog with a new theme and refined layout. The new theme is smaller and more fast than the previous one, and more clear. We hope you'll enjoy.

Also we released a small update to Revel Breezer 2012 to address some bugs that our users reported in the past. The worst of them is a bug that under some circumstances Breezer Pro and Express editions were unable to start because the trial days counter, since first installation, displays 0 remaining trial days. Even on a fresh install!

That no longer happens also we fixed some problems with the audio engine to better handle some file types.

Just a small update about the web site refresh: we got the final graphic and we're working on the contents.

Regards,
Suzy Rossi

News for October

Today we updated our website with a bounch of small improvements. The objective was improve your experience with it but the most noticeable update can be found on the official BringBack page where we added its first demo video.

But we didn't stop here.

Product activation engine update

We take the opportunity to improve our product activation experience. We redesigned the activation dialog box to be more modern, easy to use and clear also we added a new, important, feature.

Below you'll find a screenshot of it. The most important change here is that we now support trial period extension, which means that if you need more than 20 days to try our products, well, drop us an email and we will send you back a temporary unlock code, which will extend the trial period by another 20 days, for free.

How could you extend the trial period? Simply when the trial period finish a new button will appear called "Get more trial days" click it and paste the code we've sent to you in the dialog box which will appear, click ok and you're done. The trial period will return back to 20 days. We think that in some situations is more fair to give the opportunity to deeply test our products.

That feature will also help us with some support requests.

Revel reView and Breezer updates

We've also solved some minor issues with Breezer and reView. The updates are already online and available for download.

Those who have the automatic updates download will receive the update at first application run.

Web site updated and new licensing options

Last update of Revel Software web site was uploaded on April 2012 and since then our team worked behind the scenes to improve it. We had the time to listen to our customers and the result is an important change of our licensing scheme and our web store.

To start off we do a cleanup of the entire website. We also improved the download experience, changed a little the installers and the overall usability of the site was also a target for our improvement efforts.

Due to customer feedback we've added a multi-currency (updated in realtime) price label in our store.

Product pricing and store changes

The first (and we think most welcomed) change we made is a 20% (on average) price-cut on every product and for every license scheme. For example a single license of Breezer Professional 2012 now costs 49.90€ (a 20% cut from the 59.90€) and the new reView 2012 price tag is 24.90€ (from 29.90€). Those prices are valid from 08/07/2012 to 31/03/2013.

Another important change is the new shopping cart (provided and hosted by PayPal). You may ask: why? because in the past months we sell many license packs (especially for reView) that were managed manually by our staff, that means many checks and work from both sides which slows down the product key distribution. Now we offer many options so you could choose exatly what you need, and in real time, know how much does your solution cost.

Northern-Italy earthquake hits Revel Software

Revel Software was hit by the 6 Degree earthquake that recently shaken northern Italy and as a consequence we've stopped our development work. We count to restart it in 2-3 weeks.

Now we're slowly returning to normality because fortunately nobody died or had his house torn down anyway our support department and product update/release will slow down so please understand any delay from our support staff.

For more information about the earthquake and its effects: http://edition.cnn.com/2012/05/30/world/europe/italy-earthquake/index.html

Thank you for your understanding.

UPDATE 18/06/2012

I and every component of Revel Software which to thank every user that in those weeks understands our troubles and for every message of solidariety that they've sent to us.

Thank you, those are the things that makes our users so special!

Again thank you.

P.S. We're managing to return back to normality in 2-3 weeks, I'll keep you updated.

News for March

Today we've updated our web site. Now we include (as news) the RSS stream coming from this blog into the corporate web site. That means that when we publish something here it will be automagically copied to our corporate web site.

Content review and update

As we do each month, we retouch the product pages to make them more precise and to better answer to the questions that our users drops at relations@revel-software.it.

We also fix some typo errors.

Revel reView pricie changed

After over three months of "launch disconunt" on reView (our Outlook MSG file viewer) we choose to switch to the full price: 29,90€ (was 24,90€). In the next few days Breezer will receive the same treatment.
This means that those are the last days where you can purchase Breezer at 39,90€.

New ad champain for Revel Breezer Professional

On monday (5 march) we start a new ad champaing targeted to Revel Breezer, and just after two days we see a lot of traffic coming in. That's nice bacause it means that Breezer fills a hole in the digital audio software for Windows.

We will soon start a similar champain for Revel reView.

I'm also glad to let you know that Michael (Breezer development team) is working on the next article about Revel Breezer 2013. He will talk about the new UI. Looks promising...
